Okay here’s the deal:
This week I went out with some friends after eating all the calories I had allowed myself.
I found myself at the table of TGI Friday’s and quickly realized I was the only one who didn’t necessarily plan on ordering food.
As people were placing their orders I made the decision to order a burger and fries for myself.
I enjoyed the burger, had a fun time with friends, and the next day got right back on my calories.
Was it worth it?
Will I do it again?
Probably, but next time I will plan my day better and save more calories for when I go out.
That said, I noticed a major problem people struggle with when it comes to cheat meals:
People at my gym tell me all the time they’re doing extra cardio or an extra workout to “work off” the big meal they had the night before.
That’s no way to live.
Instead, I like to eat mostly whole foods like chicken, rice, oats, eggs, almonds, blueberries, steak, whole wheat pasta, and spinach.
I eat my fair share of pancakes and ice cream across the week, but they (usually) fit my calories.
And the days I eat too much whether by accident or on purpose, I simply go back on my diet with the very next meal.
No guilt required.
Getting in your ideal shape takes time, so no matter what happens, just keep moving towards your goal and you’ll be able to get there.
I talk about this and much more in my latest video, which you can check out here:
