I don’t really like to admit this, but there are some days where I just don’t feel like lifting weights.
I get tired and stressed out sometimes and I just feel like taking a nap instead.
But in the back of my mind, I know that I’ll feel so much better after my workout so I just go do it anyways.
100% of the time, I feel better after.
I’ve never regretted a workout, but I did continue to feel terrible those times I skipped out.
Once you get yourself to the gym and lift, the movement alone will help you feel less stressed and put you in a better mental state.
On top of that, you feel a sense of accomplishment.
It doesn’t matter if my workout was 30 minutes or 90 minutes, I end up standing taller and feeling more confident after walking out the gym door.
The hardest part is just getting yourself to the gym no matter what, even if you ‘don’t want to’.
A simple way to do this is by writing it into your schedule like anything else.
You have to show up to work on time, right?
You have to show up to a doctors appointment on time, right?
The same is true if you’re in school, right?
Then show up to the gym on time as well.
Once you can do that, you’ll be that much closer to reaching your goals.
