It’s a new month, so it’s time to set some new goals.
And since it’s July that means half of 2018 is already done and gone.
If you’re not already where you want to be, it’s a really good time to take a deep dive into what’s working and what’s not.
Dump what’s not working and double down on what is.
That’s what I’m doing at least, and in my case I want to set some goals to work towards for this blog this month.
July 2018 Goals
This month, I’m purely focusing on creating content for my blog and building an audience.
The more focused I can be, the better results I’ll get.
I used to set goals in the past, but I’d have this habit of trying to get better in multiple areas of life instead of just being laser focused on one.
I think a big key is to put your other goals on maintenance mode as you go deep into your main goal.
That doesn’t mean letting go, but just not putting as much effort in.
You can always switch focus later down the road.
That said, here are my top 3 goals for July 2018 which are entirely focused on growing my blog.
1. Publish 30 Blog Posts – This is something I’ve already been working on as I’m taking part in my own 30 day blogging challenge. I’m planning posts and scheduling them in advance so I don’t stress if I can’t write one day. Honestly these posts don’t take long, but it’s a good habit to be ahead of schedule. 30 relevant posts will absolutely grow this blog.
2. Gain 30 Email Subscribers – One of the most important things when it comes to growing a blog is your email list. This is your number one source of repeat traffic and customers. I’d be willing to say that daily blogging, tweeting, and pinning on Pinterest all month long will help me reach this goal. Read more about this here.
3. Make A Sale From Blogging – A lot of people think blogging is a long term game, and they’re right but that doesn’t mean you can’t make money quickly. I am part of the Marketers Delight, Hostgator, and Amazon affiliate programs (see my resource page) and my goal this month is to make my first sale from this blog directly.
Time To Get To Work
The only way I’ll be able to accomplish any of these three goals is by getting straight to work.
In order to publish 30 blog posts, I’ll have to plan some topics and spend a lot of time writing.
In order to gain 30 email subscribers, I’ll have to give enough value for it to be worth subscribing to my blog.
In order to make a sale from blogging, I’ll have to sell the right product to the right person.
It’s all very simple, but not easy.
With that said, if you want to see how things go across the month then be sure to subscribe below if you haven’t already.
I’ll be publishing my results on August 1st along with new goals for that month.
And of course you’ll be getting updates of all the new content I publish this month, so stay tuned.
