Got a question on Twitter earlier today on a good alternative for cardio and it got me thinking about what I would do.
I’ll be the first to admit I don’t do much cardio for someone who preaches fitness stuff all day long.
However, there is one thing I do daily that can improve health and that ‘feel-good’ feeling.
Prepare yourself for this ground-breaking revelation in the world of fitness known as…
Walking with a friend.
Yeah… super exciting, right?
And before you dismiss this as obvious and boring, delete this email, and unsubscribe, let me explain.
Yesterday, I was planning on hitting up the treadmill for incline walking while watching some YouTube videos, but I didn’t do it.
Instead, I met up with a friend and went for a walk outside in the surprisingly nice weather.
We walked and talked for a couple hours easily.
Neither of us thought for a second about the fact that we walked at least 4-5 miles.
I couldn’t imagine how tired and bored I would be if I attempted the same thing on the treadmill or any other cardio equipment.
So if you haven’t gone for a walk in a while, call up a friend and go to a park or downtown.
It’s a good time.
For bonus cardio points, you can go hiking too.
Of course, on the cold or rainy days you might have to use the treadmill here and there, but mixing it up can be great mentally.
