I don’t think supplements are necessary for good results in the gym or for your health, but they can definitely help.
For example, if you’re like me and don’t eat much (or any) fatty fish, it can be hard to get enough EPA in your diet.
Supplementing with a good quality fish oil can help you get the recommended amount per day.
