57K Per Year Teaching Guitar Online? (Funnel Breakdown)

Every so often, I come across digital product businesses in a niche I find interesting, and this morning was one of those times.

Before I get into this, I have to say I’m not associated with this individual and in no way contributed to the success, just so it doesn’t seem like I’m taking any credit. I just wanted to share this with you. That said…

There’s this guitar teacher doing 57k per year by playing and teaching a particular style of guitar.

The interesting point is just how simple everything is:

  • He posts on Instagram
  • He posts on YouTube
  • He links to his low-ticket Skool

That’s it, that’s the whole funnel.

The reason this works so well is for a few reasons:

First off, he’s not only good at playing but from the bit of content I’ve seen he seems to be really good at teaching as well, but I’ve also played guitar on and off for years so I have a pretty good understanding of the fretboard already.

Guitar is inherently visual and auditory, so using platforms like Instagram Reels and YouTube make perfect sense, especially since his offer is also video and audio based which makes for good alignment.

Here’s the catch though:

He’s built an audience of over 50k on IG and over 20k on YouTube, so while the funnel is incredibly simple, replicating it is not… at least in the short term.

As per Skool HQ itself, about pages for paid communities typically convert at around 0.5-4%, meaning it would take anywhere between 7,500 to 60,000 about page clicks to get that many sales.

I don’t say this to make it sound impossible.

I say this to show you how it’s possible.

So if you’re building something in a hobby based niche like this, here’s what you can do:

  • Demonstrate your skills
  • Show your ability to teach others
  • Share testimonials and customer wins
  • Build an audience on the right platform
  • Make it easy for your audience to find your offer
