Not too long ago, I came across a creator making a full time living posting Instagram Reels of them gardening, sharing what they’re doing, then monetizing with a course.

Super cool stuff, and it got me thinking…

What if you just do what you already like to do in your spare time, post it online, and create your own products to turn it into a business without worrying about “getting monetized” or working with brands who will drop you if you say the wrong words in your content?

Sure, this is pretty much the same thing I talk about all the time…

But if we’re talking more about hobby type stuff…

I might suggest a slightly different direction than my normal recommendations.

In the case of a hobby, it might be better to pick a platform like YouTube or Instagram to document progress, demonstrate your skill, and share insights you’ve picked up along the way on video.

From there, you start a Skool using the Freemium model and put the link in your bio so you can build a more connected audience and offer the opportunity to work with you if they decide to upgrade.

You could sell a course, teach online classes, or both via either one-time payments in the Classroom or through an upgraded monthly or annual subscription.
