One of the offers I sold back in the day was a 10 video course on how to create a simple website.
By today’s standards, it was nothing special.
But back then?
Creating a website was anything but simple, so it fit the market demand quite well.
I sold it by running ads to an email list landing page and after visitors subscribed, they were presented with the offer to buy the course.
It’s a lot like what I’m doing now, funny enough.
I didn’t make a ton, but it was enough to fund ads to grow that email list to just over 2,400 subscribers and still have a few bucks left over, then every sale after that was gravy.
But here’s the thing…
None of this would have been possible without one important piece of the puzzle.
Because the course alone didn’t cover the cost of ads.
And this key aspect allowed me to extra sales without extra effort once I set it up.
Essentially what I did was this:
Normally when you buy a product, you get a receipt and a download page of some sort.
What I did instead was create another page saying “your order is almost complete” and offered an additional product on how to get visitors to your website.
Customers could easily skip the secondary offer, but they could also easily make an additional purchase.
About 1 out of every 10 customers of the main course took that extra offer which was just enough to cover ads.
Okay sure, so there is a little bit of work involved because you need to have an additional product to offer and page or another a way to offer it…
But once you set it up…
It simply creates more revenue over time automatically.
These days, it’s even easier to do too.
For example, when you decide to buy my ebook, The Info Product Lifestyle Blueprint…
You can simply check a box to add my email marketing guide to your order.
Easy additional sales, easy for you to get more value, and it’s pretty simple to set up.
