There’s one fatal mistake I see people make when they’re trying to sell their digital products on social media, and it goes as follows:
- Get excited about launching their product
- Posts about their product
- Posts about their product again
- Posts about their product for a third time
- No sales
- Posts something like “why is nobody buying?”
- Dismisses digital product businesses as a scam
- Gives up and moves on with their life
There’s a whole host of problems here, but there’s one thing you can use to flip the script and avoid this altogether.
That one thing is called positioning.
But positioning isn’t a universally positive term, because the above list is an example of it too.
Those individuals are positioning themselves as needy and only out for a quick buck, regardless of what they think their intent is.
Here’s what you can do instead:
I have no problem promoting my offers because I know they will help people, and I don’t think you should be ashamed to promote either.
If you think your product is good, and you should, there’s no reason you shouldn’t talk about it every day.
That belief in your product will carry over to content and conversations which will only boost conversions.
The difference here is the approach.
Instead of shouting buy now then emoting when it doesn’t work…
Come from a place of serving your ideal customer in all your content, either through education, inspiration, or entertainment.
Your product should be a natural extension of your content.
The logical next step.
The other trick is the near-cliche of consistency…
Because if you do this every day for long enough, your audience will grow and you’ll automatically increase your perceived status.
Good product + belief in product + perceived status = good positioning.
There are other factors at play too like branding visuals, social proof, etc…
But even with basic Canva graphics and no testimonials, you can still make sales with that equation above.
I know because I’ve done it myself in new markets multiple times, and saw others do the same thing.
Any questions? Let me know.
