I’m Making Online Business Harder Than It Has To Be…

The current state of the internet gives you roughly a thousand different ways to sell a digital product, and you can make it as easy or hard as you want to.

I woke up this morning and realized I’m making it harder than it has to be.

Now I’m not saying I’m going to change things to make it easier…

But for people just starting out or who haven’t made their first sale yet?

What I’m about to share just might be a better approach to get started ASAP.

But first, I’ll tell you the “hard mode” I’ve been using.

In order for me to sell my low-ticket ebook:

  • I set up a custom domain name with Bluehost and WordPress dot org
  • I set up a Kit account for email marketing and selling products
  • I used my (lack of) design skills to put together a blog and landing pages
  • I wrote the 987 word landing page for my ebook
  • I integrated Kit with that page so when people click the buy button it pops up with an order form on desktop or redirects to the order form on mobile

While all of this isn’t terribly complicated once you get the hang of things…

I sold the first handful of copies with a much simpler approach:

  • Set up a Kit account
  • Created an 85 word product page
  • Shared the link

The short page isn’t better than the long page on my custom website, but it still sells and it took a matter of 20 minutes to set up…

And I’m still going to use my more complicated approach because I’m blogging every day this year…

But if you’re just getting started or want an easy way to offer your product?

Then this just might be the way to go.

Plus you’re going to want email marketing anyway, and that’s where Kit excels so you can take out 2 stones with one bird.

The only real downsides to the easy mode approach are the lack of customization, and the link to the page can get really long and ugly.

Speaking of long and ugly links, if you want the full system for launching a digital product biz in your spare time, check out the ‘almost-too-simple’ page below:
