My Threads Post Got 26k Views, 2k Likes, And…

A couple days ago, I saw an interesting post on Threads and decided to comment on it.

I didn’t think much of it, but not too long after that the notifications started flowing in.

Fast forward to this morning, that moderately funny comment got over 26 thousand views, 2,000 likes, a handful of comments, and…

Absolutely zero growth for my account or business.

Not a single person followed me from all that engagement.

And definitely not a single sale of my ebook.

Does that mean Threads is useless like some people jump to claim?

No, not at all.

Plenty of 6 figure creator businesses have been built from the platform in multiple niches.

Anyway, let’s break down what happened.

The main reason this post did nothing for my business is because it was so far out of the realm of my topic, and the odds of someone scrolling funny posts then flipping to a business mentality are so incredibly low.

Based on my more detailed stats from the last my X dashboard, you can typically expect at least 0.5% of total post and comment views to turn into profile visits.

So now we’ve went down from 26k post views to about 130 potential profile visits.

Again that’s based on X data and Threads user behavior might be a bit different.

Even if we did get 130 profile clicks, the likely case is they checked out my profile to see if I posted more funny stuff, saw all the business content I posted, then moved on and went back to the home feed.

Makes perfect sense why not much happened from it.

However…

That comment I left was never a business strategy to begin with.

I was quite literally just being funny, at least according to the crazy high level of likes on that comment, and was having fun with it.

You can absolutely use comments as a business strategy, and the closer you are to your niche the better.

Personally, I focus most of my time scheduling posts my ideal customer might find helpful or interesting.

But there’s nothing wrong with having some fun on social media from time to time…

Just remember not all post views are created equal.

This actually got me thinking…

I could do a write up of all the categories of posts you can make and the business value of each, almost like some kind of tier list.

If that sounds interesting, comment and let me know.
