One of the coolest things about a digital product business is once it’s set up, it’s pretty simple:
- Post content to build an audience
- Send people to a newsletter or low ticket offer
- Send emails and collect sales
Since step 2 takes care of itself and step 3 can be automated if you want, 90% of what you do is post content.
The only problem is thinking it’s so easy is ignoring the elephant in the room:
This stuff takes work to figure out.
When I was selling email marketing guides, I didn’t just show up on the internet one day and start making sales…
It took months of building, testing, and experimenting before things started to click.
And I already had experience building landing pages, creating sales funnels, writing emails, and selling products online.
For someone brand new, they have to learn all of this stuff from scratch.
It’s no wonder why so many new digital product creators give up after a few weeks, because there are so many skills to learn to make it work.
I’m not saying this to be discouraging…
I’m saying this to be real and set the proper expectations.
This is also why I set up my business the way I did:
I post content and send my free daily emails for inspiration and insights.
I offer my ebook for the “how-to” aspect of getting started.
Then I have my free community for more depth and support with paid upgrade options for more personalized guidance.
That way, you can get the info you need along with help if you ever get stuck.
At the end of the day, a lot of the digital product game is to just start and figure things out along the way.
My goal is to shorten that learning curve as much as possible.
My recommendation?
Since you’re already reading this here, sign up for my daily emails below this post, read the 3 Step Launch Plan, grab a copy of The Blueprint, then join the IPL community for further guidance.
That might sound like a lot of steps, but it’s all designed to help you launch your biz and stay in the game long enough to start seeing results.
And it only gets better from there.
