The Bread And Milk Of Your Digital Product Business

Looks like half the US is primed to get a bunch of snow tonight and tomorrow.

And since I live in that half of the US…

I have to hurry up and get to the store to stock up on bread and milk.

Why?

I don’t know, it’s just what you’re supposed to do, right?

Even though if we lost power, milk would be one of the first things to go bad…

We humans are a bit of a weird bunch…

Because we often to act on impulses that make no sense.

When it comes to a digital product business, you kinda have to forget this reflex because a lot of people give up after one slow day.

Instead, it’s a whole lot better to double down on logic.

Just like it makes no sense to stock up on rapidly perishable goods before a crazy storm, it doesn’t make sense to give up on something before you actually build it.

A good way to think about online business is this:

A car dealership is willing to spend hundreds of dollars worth of advertising to get 1 person on the lot, so of course they do everything they can to close the deal.

With digital products, you don’t necessarily have to spend money on ads…

But you do have to get people on the lot, so to speak.

And sometimes you need up to 100 people on the lot to make a sale, possibly more in the very beginning.

Now we don’t have to go hyper granular and obsess over stats and spreadsheets to run this thing…

But it’s important to be aware of the data so we don’t make knee-jerk decisions like buying bread and milk.

In any case, I want to invite you to grab a copy of The Info Product Lifestyle Blueprint where I break down how to logically build a digital product business in your spare time, which you can do even in a winter storm.

P.S. Okay, maybe I won’t get bread and milk today…

But I do need to air up my tires a little bit, get dog food, and pick up some whey protein before the winter storm rolls in for us this evening.

Out of curiosity, did you get snow yet, waiting for snow, or live in a place with no snow on the way?
