Goals are always a good thing to have because without a goal, it’s kinda hard to get where you want to go… if you don’t know where you want to go.
When I stay up later than I probably should playing online chess, my goal is to defend my king and checkmate my opponent to win.
When I hit the weights, my goal is to lift more weight over time to get stronger and build muscle.
Both of those are pretty clear and obvious.
But so many people start an online business and just want to make money.
You’ll need to ask yourself more questions to make a real goal:
- How much do you want to make?
- How do you want to make it?
- How do you plan to get leads and customers?
- Who are these leads and customers?
- What keeps them up at night?
- How can you serve them best?
The cool thing about having a goal is it helps you develop an actual plan, because the next logical step after setting a goal is asking yourself:
“How do I get there?”
Then you can use the questions above to develop that plan.
Once you have your plan, you really have two goals now:
- An outcome based goal: What is the outcome you want?
- An action-based goal: What actions do you have to do each day to achieve your goal?
If you focus on these two things every day, you’ll be so far ahead of everyone else just guessing their way through and doing what they feel like at any given moment.
What are your two goals?
If you feel like sharing, go ahead and drop a comment.
Otherwise, it’s something to think about and put into action.
