7 weeks ago today, I started a new job as a sales consultant and just last week…
I accepted a promotion to assistant manager.
Up until I got promoted, everything just felt effortless.
Every job has its quirks, but I felt good about showing up every day.
When you’re on the right path, this is how it should feel
When it comes to your digital marketing business…
My goal is to help you have the same feeling both with helping customers and operating your business in general.
It’s too easy to get caught up in some trendy business model on a trendy platform and try to grind through it just because some mega billionaire influencer is having success with it, but…
If every day is a grind, is it even worth it?
For example, late last year I heard Instagram was a great platform for my niche so I started posting every day.
The first week or two was pretty easy, but it didn’t take long before I started to get this feeling of:
“I gotta do this… again?”
And I started to resent the whole process.
There’s nothing wrong with the platform and it can be great for a digital product business, but posting content shouldn’t feel that way.
Contrast that with the fact I’m excited to wake up and write every day.
It feels completely effortless.
You gotta find your thing that gives you this feeling.
The same goes for the business model too.
In my case, it’s more about offering products that fit my life as a married dad of 3 with 2 dogs and 3 cats.
I love teaching people how to do things, but I don’t push 1-on-1 coaching with calls and video chats all that much because it’s not super easy to fit into my schedule in my current season of life.
As my kids get older and my wife fully recovers from having baby 3, it’ll be easier.
But right now?
It’s ebooks, building my community, and only taking on high-intent clients.
When you find your path, it will be a whole lot easier to show up every day even when things feel a bit slow as they usually do in the beginning.
In The Blueprint, I do suggest some platforms and a business model to use, especially in the 90 day challenge section, but I still give you insights on how to use every type of platform and business model so you can run it your own way.
