If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that online business can get really complicated really quickly, even if you’re just selling ebooks.
The amount of Miro board YouTube videos I’ve seen with 9 different funnels for 17 customer avatars to run ads and post content on 42 platforms makes my head spin, and it’s not because I don’t understand it.
Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Instead, I keep things as simple as possible:
- 1 daily email (sometimes 2)
- 1 main content type (short text posts on X and Threads)
- 1 funnel (email opt-in -> Skool)
If I do just this, keep the same pace, and never get better at content… my name and face will be seen over 2 million times per year.
Pretty cool.
And of course I’m going to get a whole lot better over time, because that’s just the way we operate here.
Anyway…
There are a few reasons why I’m keeping things simple:
- My wife and I are still in the thick of it with being relatively new to the world of having 3 kids.
- I’m still getting in the groove with my job schedule, recent promotion, and balancing that with staying in shape, taking care of the house, and everything else that comes with being an adult.
- Simple works. I do simple. I teach simple. Simple.
And if I ever hope to achieve my goal of helping 1,000 people make their first sale online, doing and teaching complicated things will only slow everyone down so it has to be simple.
(how many times can I say simple in one single post?)
