3 Ways To Destroy Writers Block In 90 Seconds Or Less

Felt kinda off this morning, so I spent a fair bit of time scrolling on Threads instead of writing.

Then when I went to go write something, I didn’t really know what to write.

But instead of calling it a day, I did what I’m about to share with you and now I have about 12 new ideas to work with.

Because let’s face it:

Part of running a digital product business is creating content, whether that means articles, videos, shorts, social media posts, or even ads.

Not knowing what topic to talk about is frustrating, and it causes a lot of people to simply not post anything which is no good for business.

So let’s break down 3 ways you can come up with fresh ideas in 90 seconds:

1. The Problem Is Actually The Solution

One of the best things you can do is list out all the problems your product solves, no matter how big or small that problem might seem.

In my case this morning, one problem I see on social media every week is creators and business owners not knowing what to post about, so here we are talking about it.

I specifically say talking about the problem your product solves, not just random problems in your market, because it will logically lead people to take the next step toward buying from you.

If you’re selling something like an ebook or course, it’s better to share quick insights about the problem.

If you’re selling something like a membership or coaching, you can share all the “secrets” because you’re selling community or implementation and it’s less about the info.

Talk about your ideal customer’s problems and you’ll never bore them.

2 .The Risky Inspiration Method

One of the worst ways to get ideas for content is by scrolling on social media.

One moment you’re in research mode, and the next you’re caught up losing 45 minutes reading some politically charged argument between 9 people you’ve never met.

However, seeing what other people are talking about in your market is a great way to find ideas of what to post if you can resist the urge to seek dopamine.

Personally, I’ve used sites like Reddit and Quora or even YouTube comment sections to get content ideas in a pinch.

The trick is being almost unreasonably intentional about it, because it can be a risky move.

3. The “When All Else Fails” Strategy

Between the two methods above, you should be able to have enough ideas for the next month, because ideas tend to create ideas, and when you post them you can get even more ideas from comments you get.

But sometimes you just need another option.

If you really cannot think of a single thing to create, then first ask yourself:

“Am I in the right niche?”

Because you should be able to pull from your own experiences, conversations, and skills with relative ease.

But sometimes the brain just gets stuck, so you have to fix that.

The fix is to just start writing.

Or speaking.

Talk about anything:

Your day. Your job. Your family. Your goals. Your hobby. Your frustrations.

Literally anything to get your brain out of “overthinking mode” and put it into “creation mode” and 9 times out of 10 that will destroy writers block in seconds.

Today, I used the first method I talked about here and now I’m at 620 words.

Funny enough, I meant to keep this short…
