As I sit here on the couch with my ‘now-early-rising’ 6 month old son relaxing in his bouncer and a cup of black coffee about ready to drink, a couple questions came to mind:
How long did it take you to learn how to walk?
How long did it take you to learn how to talk?
For most people, it’s around a year or two respectively…
It takes a while to turn those fine motor movements into gross motor movements and that’s perfectly normal.
But when it comes to launching a digital product biz?
Way too many people expect results in 2-3 weeks.
I see it every week on the Threads timeline:
“Why am I not making sales?”
And a brief view of their profile tells me everything I need to know:
- Content isn’t speaking to anyone
- They post inconsistently for less than a month
- Their product is too generic or blatantly the work of AI
Just like things as simple as walking and talking take time to learn, running an online business does too.
The main difference is adult brains get in the way, think it’s too hard, and give up.
You don’t really see babies giving up on walking and talking.
Don’t get outworked by a baby.
Facetiousness aside…
You can think of your digital product business in stages:
Stage 1: You gotta learn how to walk.
This is getting your systems set up and your overall strategy in place.
Stage 2: You gotta learn how to talk.
This is learning content and copywriting to get attention and convert customers.
Stage 3: You gotta learn how to run.
This is simply getting good enough at the first 2 stages to the point where you can start getting more consistent results.
I created Info Product Lifestyle to help you through these stages, so we can get you metaphorically walking, talking, and running in your biz over the next 90 days (and beyond).

P.S. Well, so much for early rising… my son is back to bed and with how early I got up this morning I wouldn’t mind doing the same, but I got a full day of work ahead lol
P.P.S. It’s also worth noting I set up my biz in a way that you won’t really need a nap from. Simple, repeatable, and in a couple hours a day max whether you have 1 customer or 100. Learn more here.
