I spend more time in the digital marketing corners of X and Threads than I’d like to admit, and one thing I see every day causes so many lost sales:
Pitch posts.
I’m not saying they don’t work, because they definitely do.
However, there are 2 problems with this:
- Most people aren’t in a buying mood on social media and they’re mostly there looking for the next dopamine hit, and…
- Even if you make a pitch post and get 100 clicks to your product, 95% (if you’re REALLY good) to even 99% won’t buy and with the way algorithms work these days, they might rarely see you again even if they follow you
The alternative?
This:
Content -> profile -> link to landing page -> email marketing -> sales page
Instead of sending people straight to your sales page, send them to your email list landing page instead.

Just run the numbers:
Instead of getting 1-5 people to buy from you, it’s possible to get 15-60% of those 100 visitors to join your email list.
Yes, that’s a big range because a lot of factors play into it…
But let’s just say a fairly conservative 20% signed up.
Out of 100 visitors, you now have 20 people who said “yes” to getting more from you, and you can build a better relationship and follow up with them until they’re ready to buy or unsubscribe.
What do you think your odds are of making more than 1-5 sales are?
All I can really say is in my own experience the odds are really high.
This is how I got 113 customers from a list of 401 subscribers in one niche.
Ain’t no way I’d get the same number of customers straight from pitch posts.
A word of warning though:
It will likely take you longer to make a sale than direct pitches…
But it’ll help you build a more sustainable business you can run from anywhere, and you’ll only be less reliant on the ever-changing algorithms of the internet.
